Basement of Horror. Once a year Lasergame Schweiz turns its arena in Zofingen into a restricted zone: 1,400 square metres of darkness, more than twenty actors in the corners and a group that has to bring a missing doctor back alive. On Saturday, 24 October 2026, the doors open again.

In autumn, big horror events such as Traumatica at Europa-Park compete for the same guests, with budgets a laser tag arena can only dream of. Basement of Horror counters with intimacy: one night, one arena and a story you have to solve yourself. For the 2025 edition, short portrait-format clips with a QR code linking to the tickets did the advertising. For 2026 Orbit gives the event a web presence of its own: a page that gives you goosebumps while it loads and yet states plainly when, where, from what age and how to get tickets. Plus a second task: the page also recruits actors, and no application must ever get lost.

• Event page with a case file • Countdown to opening • Two game modes • Aftermovie and gallery • Casting call with a form • Tickets, venue and map • Frequently asked questions • Built for the phone

Atmosphere and schedule

A horror event thrives on atmosphere, but people book it on hard facts. The page delivers both on the same screen. At the very top runs a warning tape with the age limit, the date and the line "Enter at your own risk". Behind the title, scenes from the arena flicker, and right below are the four facts every group is looking for: date, start time, venue and admission. A countdown counts the seconds to the doors opening.

A case file instead of ad copy

The page presents the event as a case. File BOH-2026, restricted zone B-9, access denied: a doctor who was working on a cure for the infection has been missing for weeks. The group goes in, finds him and brings him back alive: search, rescue, escape. Alongside are the figures a group checks before booking: 1,400 square metres, more than twenty actors, two game modes and a minimum age of 16.

Quest or Open

There are two modes to choose from. Quest is the story mode: solve puzzles, collect clues, gear up at the trader and reach the objective against the clock without falling into the creatures' clutches. Open is a free-for-all, with familiar laser tag modes: team against team or against the actors waiting in the dark corners. No experience is needed; the team explains everything before each round. Last year's aftermovie and a gallery from the archives show what you are letting yourself in for.

Want to do the scaring?

Under "Join in", the page looks for people who would rather scare than be scared. The form asks for name, email, age group and the reason they want to take part. Every application is saved first and only then sent to the event team; if email delivery ever fails, it is still there.

One route to the tickets

Three buttons lead to the tickets, in the top bar, on the first screen and next to the venue, and all three point to the same destination. If the sales channel changes, one place is updated instead of three. Next to it is the map to the arena; the phone number and email address open a call or the mail app directly, and for last-minute guests there is the box office on the night. Anyone still hesitating finds the frequently asked questions at the bottom, from "How scary is it really?" to "Can I join in myself?".

See you in the restricted zone

basement-of-horror.ch is online, the event takes place on 24 October 2026, and ticket sales are announced as "Available soon". For the next edition the page only needs a new date; everything else is ready. For the rest of the year the same arena belongs to laser tag again, and the Register is waiting at the counter.
