Vapply sorts the Swiss job market not by job titles but by how you want to work, and turns a swipe into an application.

The Swiss job market is spread over a dozen portals, and each shows the same job a little differently. A title like "Administrator 80-100%" says little about whether a job is calm or hectic, calls for routine or pioneering spirit. Job seekers still read every job ad in full, write every cover letter from scratch and at the end of the month enter up to ten job search efforts by hand on the RAV form. In July 2026 Orbit turns an early prototype into a brand of its own, with one condition running through every line: nothing may be invented. No sample job ad, no random date, no qualification the person has not entered themselves. Anyone applying with Vapply should be able to rely on every word sent out in their name.

• Nine vibes instead of job titles • Real job ads from all over Switzerland • Stacks instead of lists • One swipe, many applications • Cover letters from two sources • RAV proof at the push of a button • Sending only with consent • A console for operations

Nine vibes, each with evidence

Vapply matches every job against a fixed set of nine vibes: Hands-on, Modern, Diligent, Analytical, Detail-oriented, Demanding, Creative, Calm and Bold. A language model picks one to three per ad, and every choice needs evidence, a verbatim sentence from the ad. Generic virtues like "team player" do not count. And because every ad sits in a multilingual semantic space, a German-language ad also finds a French-speaking profile.

A corpus of real job ads

The job ads come from the major Swiss job portals, from Job-Room, the official platform of SECO and the RAV, and from company career pages. The same job is merged into a single entry across all sources, and an ad only counts as filled once it has gone missing several times in a row. At the beginning of October 2026 the cleaned data set holds 163,067 ads, with no duplicates and no dead ads.

One swipe, one stack

You choose your vibes, and the home page turns them into stacks, one per vibe and per vibe pair, each with a heading like "Deep, async, no noise" and at most eight cards, no more than two from the same employer. The jobs closest to what you have written about yourself move to the front. A swipe to the right applies to the whole stack, every card becomes an application of its own, and you never apply to the same job twice.

Two sources, not a word more

For every application a language model on Orbit's own servers writes a cover letter that may rely on only two sources: the job ad and what the person says about themselves. The interview briefing comes from the ad; whatever is not in it becomes a question for the employer, never a claim. For the RAV, Vapply fills in the official form "Proof of personal job search efforts" with the real application data, and the monthly report takes one click instead of an evening.

Only with consent

For an application to reach the employer, you fill in an application profile in the app: start date, education, type of employment and consent. Vapply only sends an application if the person has agreed both when applying and when sending, and the cover letter and CV are in place. Sending is built and tested against a test mailbox; it will only be switched on once everything is right.

Nobody likes applying

The website says it in its first sentence: "Nobody likes applying. Neither do we." Next to it lies a stack of cards as in the app, with vibes instead of titles. Below come three steps, choose a vibe, swipe right, sit back, and the paperwork Vapply takes care of: cover letters, interview training, RAV export and help with negotiating. At the end it says where the data lives, in Switzerland, and asks: "Which vibe today?"

Behind the app

For operations Vapply has a console of its own: dashboard, users, taxonomy, jobs and billing. The dashboard shows the path of every application as a funnel, viewed, sent, interview, offer, rejected, and below it the latest applications with their vibe bundle and status. The console does not extrapolate: it shows what is in the database.

Someone who doesn't like applying either

Website and app backend have been running as one service under vapply.orbit.zuerich since October 2026. The apps for Android and iPhone are in testing, the sign-in code arrives by email, and the pricing plans on the website still read "Available soon". Until launch Vapply remains what the website's first sentence promises: someone who doesn't like applying either, and therefore makes it easier.
