Relay is the heart of Orbit: every website, every portal and every app Orbit delivers goes through this service, from Walzpunkt and Kabelschweiz to Lasergame Schweiz, and this page too.

A lot gets lost in the industry between design and finished website. Tools such as Figma, Webflow and Framer make designing faster than ever, yet what finally goes online often differs in the details, and every deviation costs a round of feedback. Orbit looks after sixteen tenants with almost forty projects, and every brand brings its own colours, typefaces, data and logins. In June 2026 Orbit therefore sets down what its own service must do: take in a brand's design, break it into reusable building blocks and build from them the surface the client opens, so that it follows the design to the pixel. Relay is largely built by AI agents, and precisely for that reason it trusts no claim, only a measurement.

• The rendering browser as judge • Checks nobody loosens • Foundation first, then the building block • One database per tenant • From design to working software • Media with versions and approval • Signature and payment on the case page • Lighthouse in the SEO area

Measured, not claimed

An AI agent is quick to report a task as done when the result merely looks right. So Relay lets the browser decide: the design is rendered as it is, the surface next to it, and a comparison measures some 55 properties container by container, plus text, images and dimensions. Until a check has passed, a building block is called "drafted", and only a human changes the checking tools themselves. For clients this means: what was approved in the design is what goes online.

Every brand stays true to itself

In Relay, a brand is always built in the same order. First comes the foundation: colours, typefaces, gradients and icons, rendered both in the design and in Relay and compared with each other. If a value is off, it is corrected there, never in the individual building block, and with it the error disappears from every page at once. Logo, favicon and the parts of the page follow. Every project has its own database, every tenant its own media storage: Walzpunkt's typefaces never end up at Kabelschweiz, and the customers of one never see the data of another.

From design to software

Since July 2026 a design no longer stops at the surface. It arrives by upload or straight from Parallax, becomes foundation, building block and page, and then the real work begins: every button the design hints at is wired up and checked, and every number on the page comes from a real data source. What was a placeholder in the design ends up as a value from the database. A dedicated check forbids faking an incoming payment.

The client at the table

Approvals, signatures and payments belong in one place, not in twenty emails. Since July 2026 Relay manages the media of all projects, every file with versions and one of three visibility levels, internal, client or public. Clients comment right in the image or at a point in the video and draw on a layer above it. They can sign on their phone if they wish, and since August they pay from the same case page, by card or TWINT. Only what the payment provider has confirmed counts as paid.

Being found

Since October 2026 every case and every product on orbit.zuerich has an address of its own. From these, Relay generates the sitemap and the descriptions for search engines, shows what a crawler actually sees on every page, and measures the pages with Lighthouse right in the SEO area, with every finding assigned to the building block that causes it. Translations remember the sentence they came from and flag themselves as soon as the original changes.

What you see is what arrives

Relay runs as Orbit's core service, and it is never quite finished: surfaces are being rebuilt tenant by tenant, and anything called "drafted" today only counts as finished once its checks say so. That is exactly the promise behind every Orbit commission: what was seen in the design is also what arrives.
