Chat

Chat: team, clients and AI in one window, right next to the work it is about.

Chat: team, clients and AI in one window, right next to the work it is about.

Every job runs on conversations, and most businesses hold them in many places at once: in a messenger group on a private phone, in a team tool, in the inbox and in the end on the phone after all. What was decided is never written down in one place, and whoever leaves the business takes part of the agreements along. Orbit wanted one conversation for its own work and for every client that belongs to the project and runs on the same sign-in as the contracts and the files. Chat is that conversation. Orbit built it itself, and every new client account has it from day one.

• A room of its own for every company • Direct messages • AI in its own thread • Guests from the website • Calls and screen sharing • Files and images in the thread • Pins, archive and search • One sign-in for everything

The conversation belongs to the project

Every company that works with Orbit has a room of its own under its name. In it, the client’s people and Orbit’s people write to each other, and no other company sees what is said there. Alongside, Orbit writes to the client’s people directly, person to person. Because the chat runs on the same sign-in as the projects, the contracts and the files, the conversation stays with the business and not on an employee’s private phone.

The AI has a seat at the table

Every person has a thread of their own with Orbit’s AI. That is the place to ask and prepare without filling up the other conversations. In the other conversations, the AI suggests a short reply that can be taken over with one click; anyone who would rather not switches the suggestions off in the settings. Whether the AI itself answers briefly or in detail can be set as well.

Website visitors can write

A conversation can start without an account. On orbit.zuerich a visitor opens the chat, writes, and the answer appears in the same window. At Orbit these conversations land in an area of their own for guests, separate from the clients’ rooms, and are answered from there. A question on the website becomes a conversation in the same chat Orbit works in.

From writing to calling

When things get complicated, the thread becomes a call, with camera and, if wanted, a shared screen. The call stays in the conversation it came from: small as a strip above the thread, or large as a room, with the speaker in focus or everyone in a grid.

Nothing gets lost, nothing gets in the way

What matters gets pinned and stays on top, finished threads go to the archive, and search finds every message again. Files and images belong to the thread instead of an attachment somewhere, and whoever writes sees whether the last message has been read. How loud the chat may be is up to each person: only on mentions, without sound, with do not disturb, with or without online status. Whether Enter sends, whether the interface is light or dark and which language it speaks are up to them as well.

The same thread everywhere

The chat is not another program to open. It sits in the top bar of the Orbit consoles and unfolds there as a window, it runs full screen at chat.orbit.zuerich and on the phone, and everywhere it is the same thread.

What was said can be found again

Chat runs at Orbit for its own work and with every client, and every new account has it from day one. The yardstick is simple: whoever wants to know in six months what was agreed finds it where the project is.
